Secession

Secession is not the only political tool available to the state.

Secession will only mean war with the country you no longer belong to.

Secession was the means by which the southern states hoped to achieve their goal of preserving slavery.

Twelve separatists were convicted and given long prison sentences for their roles in holding the banned secession referendum in 2017. They then declared independence a few days after the results. Unionists boycotted the referendum, which was held amid a large police presence intent on stopping it.

That year, secession was enacted on account of unreasonable policies.
