Seder

On the night of the Seder we drink four glasses of wine.

The traditional elements are all in place—including the Seder plate which holds unleavened bread, green vegetables, bitter herbs and a shank bone.

The second part of the Seder is when most of the singing happens.

On the same day, the State of Israel celebrated its first Passover seder and the United Nations, still meeting in those days at Flushing Meadow in Queens, voted to consider the Jewish state's application for membership.
