Shipwrecks

Tom survived three shipwrecks.

Within national marine sanctuaries's protected waters, giant humpback whales breed and calve their young, temperate reefs flourish, and shipwrecks tell stories of our maritime history.

In total, 1500 men took part in Cabral's expedition, of which only five hundred survived. Many died in shipwrecks; others from diseases that spread on the ships.
