Tarred

Although a lickspit licks spit and an ass-kisser kisses asses, both expressions are used for people who are tarred with the same brush.

Tom was tarred and feathered by the crowd.

Tom and Mary are tarred with the same brush.

The road has been tarred.

Sometimes I wish for the Middle Ages again, back when people like Tom were chased out of town tarred and feathered.
