In determining this matter by instantaneous photography, the artist took the photograph of an omnibus wheel en route, and in this photograph, while the lower ends of the spokes immediately adjacent to the ground are not perceptibly unshapened by the motion, the tops of the upper spokes show an angular motion, corresponding to about ten degrees.
