From Hindi मंजीठ (mañjīṭh), an alternative form of मजीठ (majīṭh), from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀫𑀁𑀚𑀺𑀝𑁆𑀞𑀸 (maṃjiṭṭhā), from Sanskrit मञ्जिष्ठा (mañjiṣṭhā).
